Your life is absolutely important.

There’s an old saying, set the man straight and the whole world falls into place. Once you have your head screwed on right, the rest is a breeze.

What does a successful life mean to you?

Is it time to take a reality check? Put things in perspective?

Somewhere right now a house is burning down leaving a family destitute. A boy in India works from dawn barefoot hand-sifting coal. A widow feeds her children the last egg going hungry herself. A little girl arrives at a foster home.

There are beggars on the streets of London.

You have sneakers and a bicycle, screwdrivers, and a hairdryer. You own tins of tomatoes and Italian pasta, fancy cereal, and cans of soda. You have a nice comfy bed with a memory foam underlay and feather duvet. You have friends.

Your life is good. You are already ahead of the game. You are winning.

All your problems are quality problems. Or at least some of them are. Most of them are. Should you go blonde? Should you buy shares in Microsoft or Bitcoin? Should you go to that party on Saturday night or stay home and read a book? It is a luxury to agonize over decisions a less fortunate person could only dream of facing…
