A tilting of the axis
Is anyone else freaking out at what the future holds? Are any of you wondering what the hell do we plan for? It is all so ambiguous. Do you create long-term wealth — work on your legacy — or do you equip yourself with guns and ammunition and the most expensive hunting knife on the market for the inevitable worst-case end-of-the-world scenario?
Change is afoot. A reckoning is coming.
I wish I could see the future. A crystal ball would be a practical purchase right now. I mean, are the banks going to last much longer? Is climate change going to wreak havoc on the global food supply chain — are we headed for a 10C temperature rise by 2026? Is there any point at all lusting for a successful career in anything or creating anything long term I mean, is the best we can hope for something we don’t even know.
These are rhetorical and unanswerable questions.
My worldview has taken a knock. I’m having trouble believing in the church leaders with childrens’ multiple corpses found on the grounds of historical boarding schools or the medical fields who mock and degrade ancient healing knowledge and practices, or the holier than thou politicians who, somewhere along the way we’ve forgotten are akin to used car salesmen. I’m wondering how can it be that rich dudes are going to Mars in penis-shaped…
